Job summary

HiFyve is seeking a Fabrication Shop Supervisor (2nd Shift) in Columbus, OH. The role leads welders, plumbers, and laborers to deliver safe, high-quality fabrication work, with daily scheduling, safety meetings, and adherence to OSHA policies.

You will interpret blueprints and isometrics, coordinate with project teams, and ensure on-time project progress while maintaining documentation and quality standards. OSHA 10 and 5+ years in fabrication supervision preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction or fabrication in industrial, commercial, or data center environments.
• Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• OSHA 10 Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of fabrication shop welders, plumbers/pipefitters, and laborers to ensure safe, efficient production.
• Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure projects are completed on schedule while meeting quality standards.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA regulations.
• Oversee fabrication and assembly of piping, ductwork, support systems, and mechanical components per blueprints and specs.
• Review drawings, isometrics, and fabrication details to ensure accurate execution of work.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to support production schedules and material availability.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with standards and customer specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of fabrication progress, testing, and installation activities.

Salary: Hourly, based on experience (DOE)

Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday-Thursday | 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Duties, Responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Supervise and lead a team of fabrication shop welders, plumbers/pipefitters, and laborers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
• Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure projects are completed on schedule while meeting company quality standards.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Oversee the fabrication and assembly of piping, ductwork, support systems, and other mechanical components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Review and interpret drawings, isometric plans, and fabrication details to ensure accurate execution of work.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to support production schedules, material availability, and project timelines.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of fabrication progress, testing, and installation activities as required.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members while promoting a positive, safety-focused work environment.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction or fabrication within industrial, commercial, or data center environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in both fabrication shop and field environments, including indoor/outdoor conditions and elevated platforms as needed.
