Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a production supervisor to oversee rebar operations, including shearing, bending and loading to customer specs. You will manage annual reviews, coach shop employees, and ensure production flow and safety compliance.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience in a large rebar or similar facility, Proficient in Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing a large Rebar or similar facility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, in written and verbal form.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the production operators as they shear, bend, and load rebar to customer specifications.
  • Manage annual reviews, coach, and counsel shop employees with regard to employee relations issues and development opportunities.
  • Set production requirements based on customer needs and ensures the productive flow of material throughout the shop.
  • Direct and ensure production reports are completed for each shift.
  • Direct interview processes and coordinate training of new shop employees.
  • Partner with the Safety Manager to direct safety meetings and ensures ongoing safety training for all shop employees.
  • Advocates sound business practices to operational processes to supply the customer and stay within budgeting standards.
  • Control Asset utilization and resource capacity including inventory management.
  • Meet or exceed financial and safety targets.

What You'll Do
  • Supervise the production operators as they shear, bend, and load rebar to customer specifications
  • Manage annual reviews, coach, and counsel shop employees with regard to employee relations issues and development opportunities
  • Set production requirements based on customer needs and ensures the productive flow of material throughout the shop
  • Ensure stock materials are received from loader and inspected for uniformity and attachment of inventory tags, SAP tags, and partial tags on open bundles
  • Direct and ensure production reports are completed for each shift
  • Direct interview processes and coordinate training of new shop employees
  • Partner with the Safety Manager to direct safety meetings and ensures ongoing safety training for all shop employees
  • Advocates sound business practices to operational processes to supply the customer and stay within budgeting standards
  • Control Asset utilization and resource capacity including inventory management (Raw materials and WIP)
  • Meet or exceed financial and safety targets (KPI's, output, Labor, Safety, Quality, CS Service, Costs, Culture, and regulatory compliance)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing a large Rebar or similar facility, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary to be successful in this role
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
