Job summary

GSS is seeking a Fabrication Specialist - Welder in Odessa, TX. The role focuses on MIG welding, fabrication of piping, manifolds, and pressure vessels, and reading blueprints.

You will assemble components, operate welding equipment, and maintain safety and quality on the shop floor. Requirements include 2+ years in fabrication (pipe fitting, structural welding, MIG), ability to read drawings, and strong attention to safety and attendance.

Qualifications

• Two+ years fabrication experience in pipe fitting, structural welding, and MIG welding.
• Experience welding pressure vessels is highly preferred.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures and fabrication practices.
• Familiar with shop tools and fabrication equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Able to work assigned hours and maintain attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and other materials.
• Fabricate, fit and assemble piping, manifolds, pressure vessels, and structural components.
• Layout, fit, and weld pipe saddles and pipe assemblies.
• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measure, cut, bevel, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication.
• Perform repairs and modifications to equipment as needed.
• Maintain professional attitude toward customers and co-workers.
• Be punctual for scheduled shifts and notify supervisor for attendance issues.
• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and tools properly stored.

GSS Fabrication Specialist - (Welder)

Job Requirements

• Two plus years’ experience in fabrication required in pipe fitting, structural welding, and MIG welding.


• Experience welding pressure vessels is highly preferred.


• Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.


• Strong knowledge of welding procedures and fabrication practices.


• Familiar with shop tools, and fabrication equipment.


• Excellent customer service and communication skills.


• Valid drivers license and clean driving record, and reliable transportation to get to work.


• Able to work assigned hours and maintain reliable attendance.


• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.


• Ability to operate cell phone, tablets, and basic computer skills.


• Organizational skills – keep tools and equipment maintained and kept in place when not in use.


• Perform duties assigned by management team. Assist with assembling customer orders, load and unload orders for customers and vendors and put up stock items.

Job Responsibility

• Be prompt and ready to start work on time for scheduled shifts. If there is an attendance issue, notify your supervisor & make notation in your time clock app. Stay productive and on task while on the clock.


• Keep up with all company policies and procedures.


• Complete paperwork and documentation.


• Follow all company safety procedures.


• Be aware of surroundings and follow all safety procedures while performing duties.


• Keep all workspaces clean, free of trash and debris, and organized.
