Job summary

Automation Personnel Services in Baytown, Texas seeks an experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy shop specializing in structural steel, pipe fabrication, welding, and industrial projects.

You will lead shop personnel, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and high-quality results while coordinating with engineering, production, purchasing, logistics, and quality control teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of fabrication shop experience.
• Experience supervising welders, fitters, fabricators, and shop personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and isometric drawings.
• Experience with production scheduling and workflow management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day fabrication shop operations.
• Supervise shop supervisors, welders, fitters, fabricators, machine operators, and support personnel.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize production to meet customer deadlines.
• Review fabrication drawings, specifications, and work orders for accuracy.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as needed.
• Ensure OSHA safety compliance and quality standards.
• Conduct daily production meetings and communicate project priorities.
• Monitor fabrication quality and ensure work meets customer specs and codes.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, purchasing, logistics, and quality control teams.
• Monitor labor hours, production efficiency, and project costs.
• Train, mentor, and develop shop personnel.
