US Tech Force in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is seeking a talented Fabrication Shop Inspector with experience in a custom fabrication shop. You will inspect parts to customer specifications, read blueprints, and verify conformance to welding, heat treating, bonding, brazing, and machining standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in fabrication or machine shop inspection; training is available for the right applicant with welding/fabrication background.

Qualifications

• 2 years of inspection experience in fabrication or machine shop preferred.
• Willingness to train candidates with welding/fabrication/machining background for inspection.

Responsabilités

• Inspects all parts to customer specifications.
• Reads and interprets inspection manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine inspection method, procedures and tolerances.
• Examines parts for defects such as poor welds, cracks, finishes, stress, and fatigue marks.
• Calculates allowable dimensional deviations and uses shop math.
• Verifies configuration of component parts and hole locations using fixtures and measuring instruments; inspects welding, heat treating, bonding, brazing, and machining for conformance.
• Observes or conducts testing to ensure parts meet fabrication standards and specifications.
• Accepts or rejects parts and records inspection results.
• Completes correlating paperwork for each job as required.
• Discusses inspection and test results with QA, production, and engineering; may review results from others.
• Reviews job traveler for start date and delivery times; communicates traveler changes to ensure on-time delivery.
• Performs in-process checks on fabrication tac welds throughout shift.
