Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a skilled Machine Operator in the fabrication shop to operate plasma cutters and assist with press brake and shear cutter. You will read blueprints, set up tooling, inspect parts and maintain equipment while following safety procedures.

Requires 1+ year experience with plasma cutting, ability to read a tape measure, and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions. We offer competitive benefits and a stable full-time role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience operating a plasma cutter.
• Able to read a tape measure and blueprints.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Background check clearance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate plasma cutting machines to cut sheet metal per blueprints.
• Set up, adjust and operate press brake machines to form sheet metal.
• Set, adjust and operate shear cutter for material specs and cuts.
• Read drawings and work orders to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect parts during production to verify conformance.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules.
