Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings, a Westlake division, is seeking a production operator to make couplings for pipe. You will work in an entrepreneurial environment, uphold safety, and use precision measuring tools to ensure dimensions meet specifications.

The role requires reading English instructions, using tape measures and calipers, and coordinating with shift leads. Physical work includes standing for long periods and lifting up to 40–50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English.
• Ability to read a tape measure, add and subtract two digit numbers, and use a calculator.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
• Checks parts for dimensions.
• Assists with procuring materials needed for production. Must use tape measure, plug gauge, dial indicator, inside caliper, dial caliper, and burr knife.
• Operate equipment to cut and machine couplings, drill holes, install set screws, hydro test, and package.
• Complete production and quality paperwork.
• Answer employee technical questions and direct where to go for other questions.
• Notify supervisor or maintenance when problems arise.
