Job Summary

The Fabrication Operator (A) is responsible for working in manufacturing, performing tasks such as polishing acrylic, assembling cabin windows and pilot windows, cutting acrylic using hand tools such as band saws and manual saws, running custom machinery such as stretch machines, data entry, moving large pieces of acrylic (i.e., canopies, acrylic sheets), layup, coating, and setting up ovens and autoclaves. The Fabrication Operator (A) will support the manufacturing ramp-up of windows, canopies, and windshields for defense and commercial aircraft.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to creating a Great Place to Work by role-modeling safety-first, a Kaizen mindset, and supporting colleagues.
  2. Hold themselves and team members accountable to embody GKNA culture principles.
  3. Perform tasks in compliance with standard work and training; report safety, quality, or other issues immediately to the team leader.
  4. Follow all safety policies and standards, exemplifying a safety-first mindset.
  5. Understand team KPIs related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost, and contribute to them.
  6. Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
  7. Support problem solving with the team and team leader, sharing ideas based on personal experience.
  8. Engage actively with the team to promote collective engagement.
  9. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including EEO policies, ethics, and export controls.
  10. Maintain accurate production records for compliance.
  11. Work while wearing a respirator and handling chemicals and resins.
  12. Use measuring tools like micrometers, scales, and calipers to ensure blueprint compliance.
  13. Follow verbal and written manufacturing instructions.
  14. Work effectively in a team environment.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Fluent in English with strong reading and writing skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • US Person status per ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ASI.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
Compensation Data

$19.82/hour
