Job Summary

The Fabrication Operator (A) is responsible for working in manufacturing, performing tasks such as polishing acrylic, assembling cabin windows and pilot windows, cutting acrylic using hand tools like band saws and manual saws, operating custom machinery such as stretch machines, data entry, moving large pieces of acrylic (e.g., canopies, sheets), layup, coating, and setting up ovens and autoclaves. The Fabrication Operator (A) will support the manufacturing ramp-up of windows, canopies, and windshields for defense and commercial aircraft.

Shift Time: 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Job Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to creating a Great Place to Work by role-modeling safety-first, a Kaizen mindset, and supporting colleagues.
  2. Hold themselves and team members accountable to embody GKNA culture principles.
  3. Undertake tasks in compliance with standard work and training; report problems immediately to team lead.
  4. Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.
  5. Understand key performance indicators related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost, and contribute to them.
  6. Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
  7. Support problem-solving efforts, contributing ideas from own experience.
  8. Promote active team engagement and collaboration.
  9. Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, including EEO policies, U.S. Government contracting policies, and export controls.
  10. Maintain accurate production records for compliance.
  11. Work while wearing a respirator and with chemicals/resins.
  12. Use measuring tools like micrometers, scales, and calipers to ensure compliance with blueprints.
  13. Follow verbal and written manufacturing instructions.
  14. Work effectively in a team environment.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading and writing skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • US Person per ITAR regulations for export compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ASI.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
Compensation Data

The position offers a pay rate of $19.82/hour.
