Job summary

Smart Resources Group in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to lead daily operations in a steel fabrication environment. You will oversee production, safety, quality, scheduling, equipment utilization, and team performance to meet customer orders on time and to spec.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing, 3+ years in leadership, and strong knowledge of laser/plasma cutting, welding, forming, and machining.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in steel fabrication, metal service centers, or heavy manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in fabrication/production.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes (laser/plasma cutting, burning, forming, rolling, welding, machining).
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and production scheduling systems.
• Proven track record in improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop fabrication supervisors, welders, operators, fitters, and material handlers.
• Manage production schedules, workflow, and fabrication resources.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs: throughput, on-time delivery, scrap, rework, machine uptime.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics.
