Job summary

Atkore International in Cartersville, GA seeks a Fabrication Machine Operator for the 2nd shift. You will start up, operate and monitor multiple machines to ensure high-quality production and minimal downtime in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, can stand 10 hours, are willing to work overtime, and can read blueprints or schematics. Safety, teamwork and integrity are valued at Atkore.

Fabrication Machine Operator - 2nd Shift - $20.00/hour - plus $1.00/hr shift differential

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Fabrication Machine Operator to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment, as well as operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.

What you'll do:

Fabrication Machine Operator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Actively participate in Atkore's safety program
Cross train in different areas of the shop as required
Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
