Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Director of Fabrication in Texas to lead estimating, QA/QC, safety, production, and project scheduling. You will align with Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure on-time, on-budget fabrication that meets quality standards.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and accountability for margins, capacity, and continuous improvement in an EPC/industrial setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or EPC operations.
• 5+ years in a significant fabrication leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing pipe fabrication and/or modular fabrication operations.
• Strong understanding of welding, fitting, piping, structural fabrication, modular assembly, and industrial construction.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasts, labor productivity, and financial performance.
• Strong understanding of fabrication estimating and project controls.
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing production priorities.
• Strong leadership and organizational-development skills.
• Experience with ASME and AWS fabrication requirements.
• Exposure to EPC/industrial construction environments.
• Lean manufacturing, production tracking, or fabrication improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Fabrication Business Unit and its P&L targets.
• Own annual budgets, forecasts, and profitability objectives.
• Monitor backlog, labor, capacity, and shop loading against plans.
• Drive productivity, workflow, equipment utilization, and shop layout improvements.
• Coordinate production priorities across projects and clients.
• Integrate fabrication activities with engineering, procurement, construction, and project schedules.
• Review and approve fabrication estimates and bid decisions.
• Monitor project financial performance and forecast margins.
• Ensure QA/QC program alignment with ASME, AWS, API, and client specs.
