Job summary

TAS Energy Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Fabrication Lead to direct the fabrication and assembly of pipe products. You will oversee work orders, supervise the fabrication team, plan resources, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years of pipe or structural fabrication experience. You will train staff on safety, develop skills, and uphold best practices in production and quality management.

  • Fabricate pipes to required customizations.
  • Manage all Work Orders associated with fabrication.
  • Supervise the work team in the planning and execution of a wide variety of fabrication.
  • Plan resource requirements based on Work Orders and production plan.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork within the department.
  • Track, assign, and monitor work orders.
  • Ensure timeliness, safety and quality of material movement.
  • Maintain safe work practices, ensure work crews follow safe practices and HSE programs, including Lock-out/Tag-out.
  • In conjunction with the Production Supervisor and EHS Manager, train employees on changes in safety regulations, work policies, and standards.
  • Develop skills and abilities of team members.
  • Ensure all department employees complete required training.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by TAS

Position Overview

The Fabrication Lead directs the fabrication and assembly of pipe products.

Minimum Requirements

Two years of pipe or structural fabrication experience.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Work performed in a non‑climate‑controlled shop environment. Exposed to hot and cold temperatures, but not to the extent of being disagreeable. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout the workday, up to 10 hours per day (with a lunch break in between), up to 6 days per week. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach (forward and overhead), and maintain balance. Occasional sitting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required. Frequent bending at the waist and twisting movements are required. Physical effort includes frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, including lifting from floor to shoulder height and from waist to shoulder height. Occasional carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds over short distances (up to 30 feet). Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and coordination tasks is required. Requires normal vision, hand‑eye coordination, and absence of color blindness. Hearing ability is required to safely and effectively perform job duties, with the use of earplugs recommended. Climbing ladders may be required frequently; climbing stairs or steps may occur occasionally. Proper PPE which includes steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, and TAS provided hard hat is required in the manufacturing facility.
