Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Basic math and measurement skills (fractions, decimals).
  • Ability to read work orders, material tags, and shop paperwork.
  • Familiarity with steel, aluminum, or other fabrication materials a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips and work orders
  • Move raw materials, components, and finished products to designated shop areas
  • Stage materials for cutting, welding, machining, and assembly operations
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely
  • Load and unload trucks following safety and quality procedures
  • Maintain accurate material inventory and update records as required
  • Identify material shortages, damage, or discrepancies and report to supervision
  • Keep work areas organized, labeled, and free of hazards (5S standards)
  • Assist with shipping and packaging of finished products
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and company policies

Job Summary

The Fabrication Helper supports manufacturing and fabrication operations by receiving, staging, moving, and issuing raw materials and finished goods throughout the shop. This role ensures materials are available where and when needed to keep production running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against packing slips and work orders
  • Move raw materials, components, and finished products to designated shop areas
  • Stage materials for cutting, welding, machining, and assembly operations
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely
