Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fabrication Forklift Driver in Gilbert, AZ for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 2:00 pm–12:30 am). You will supply materials to fabrication, operate forklift safely, and support production with timely material movement.

Requirements include forklift operation experience, a high school diploma, forklift training or safety certification preferred, and a valid US driver license. Teamwork, good communication, and adherence to Lean practices are valued.

Primary Focus:

The primary role of the Fabrication Forklift Driver is to provide all required materials to the department before they are required.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Operates forklift equipment as required, ensuring that safety standards are followed.
• Moves raw materials to fabrication machines as assigned
• Conduct all materials movement procedures in accordance with established Company policies and procedures and safety regulations.

• Place all materials in the designated area.
• Ensure all material is verified accurate per request designated
• Communicate with Supervisors to ensure clear lines of communication.
• Multi-task and prioritization in accordance with company daily schedule and requirements.
• Monitor and report any material damage or discrepancies.
• Hoppers are to be dumped after machines change their cut material.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Safety policies must be always adhered to.
• It is very important that the incumbent of this position can work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g., safety glasses, safety boots, ear protection, cut level 5 gloves etc.).
• Regularly works near moving parts.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Noise levels can fluctuate from quiet to loud.
• Adhere to the 5S - Lean practice - a place for everything and everything in its place.

Educationand Experience:

• Microsoft office, preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent; training in forklift operation and safety certifications preferred.
• Must have a valid US Driver License.
• Analytical problem solver with good communication skills.
• Forklift experience.
• Knowledge of inventory receiving, processing, and storage procedures. Understanding of production line supply requirements and general production operations.
• Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.
• Experience with Sheet Metal. Hardware, Electronics, and shop tools a PLUS
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency preferred.
• Must meet physical fitness standards necessary for frequent lifting, walking, and standing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless operations across departments.
• Ability to adapt to changing work schedules, environments, and operational priorities.
