Job summary

IEM is seeking a Fabrication Data Analyst to enable data-driven decision making across Sheet Metal, Busbar, and Powder Coating operations. You will own collection, analysis, and visualization of fabrication performance data, including OEE, utilization, scrap, labor efficiency, and capacity.

Reports to the Director of Operations. You will collaborate with the Fabrication team to support process standardization, control, and continuous improvement, translating MES and OEE data into actionable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, industrial engineering, data analytics, or related technical field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing analytics or operations analysis.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP, data visualization, and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze fabrication data from OEE, MES, ERP (SyteLine), and manual sources to generate accurate performance insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate KPIs including OEE, utilization, scrap, throughput, labor efficiency, capacity, and schedule attainment.
  • Provide detailed root-cause data analysis for downtime, quality issues, delays, or process instability.

Position Summary:

The Fabrication Data Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision making across the Sheet Metal, Busbar, and Powder Coating operations. This role owns the collection, analysis, and visualization of fabrication performance data, including OEE, utilization, scrap, labor efficiency, and capacity. The analyst partners closely with the Director of Fabrication, Operations Managers, and the Fabrication Engineering team to support process implementation, standardization, and control. This role ensures that MES and OEE data are translated into timely, actionable insights that drive throughput, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. Reports to Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze fabrication data from OEE, MES, ERP (SyteLine), and manual sources to generate accurate performance insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, providing daily, weekly, and monthly visibility into production performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate KPIs including OEE, utilization, scrap, throughput, labor efficiency, capacity, and schedule attainment.
  • Support the Fabrication Engineering Manager and Operations Managers in identifying bottlenecks, trends, and systemic issues.
  • Provide detailed root-cause data analysis for downtime, quality issues, delays, or process instability.
  • Participate in process implementation and process control activities, including validation of standard work, cycle times, routings, load balancing, and line balancing.
  • Assist with configuration and optimization of MES and OEE systems to ensure accurate data capture and alignment with real workflows.
  • Support the rollout of new process standards, automation cells, and engineering changes by providing required data analysis and control tools.
  • Collaborate with Planning on capacity modeling, production forecasting, and scenario simulations for load balancing across buildings.
  • Create automated reporting systems and alert mechanisms to flag performance risks to Operations Managers and the Director of Fabrication.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, supporting CI teams with data modeling, statistical analysis, and project tracking.
  • Ensure data integrity, documentation consistency, and alignment with company-wide reporting standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing analytics, operations analysis, industrial engineering, or similar role.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (Infor SyteLine preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong skills in SQL, data manipulation, and database structures are an asset.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably in metal fabrication (sheet metal, busbar, powder coating).
  • Familiarity with OEE, MES, and machine monitoring systems is preferred.
  • Experience supporting process implementation, process control, or standard work documentation is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence operational leaders through data storytelling.
