Job summary

Hendrickson in Ohio is seeking a hands-on welder for a heavy manufacturing environment. You will supply and operate welding systems, adjust equipment as needed, and handle plasma cutting and material handling equipment including overhead hoists and cranes.

You will lay out and tack-weld parts, perform routine maintenance, meet production standards, and conduct basic quality checks. Safe working habits and adherence to the Quality Management System are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints with geometric tolerancing.
• Be self-motivated and have strong initiative and strong communication skills.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supply and operate welding systems.
• Make running adjustments as needed.
• Operate plasma cutters and overhead hoists and cranes.
• Lay out, position, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Meet established production standards.
• Conduct required quality checks using basic measuring equipment.
• Accurately report daily activities on work orders, QAD Reporting, and Kanban cards and other media as required.
• Exercise safe working habits while operating machines.
• Keep machine and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Comply with the Quality Management System.
• Adhere to Auxiliary Axle Systems Employee Handbook.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance.

Education and Training

Must be pursuing High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand; walk; bend; balance; and grasp. Occasionally required to climb; squat; or kneel. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
