Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC seeks a Fabrication CAD Team Lead to manage a team bridging 3D models and machinable files for CNC equipment at the Anderson, SC plant.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree with strong CAD experience, sheet metal knowledge, nesting experience, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor. This role requires leadership and a focus on quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 4 years of total CAD experience is required.
  • 4 years of experience in sheet metal CAD software (preference: Autodesk Inventor)
  • 2yrs of experience in nesting is required. Experience in folding software is preferred
  • Deep understanding of sheet metal behavior, grain direction, spring back and minimum bend radii
  • Exceptional learning capacity

Responsibilities

  • Lead our team (hiring now) of Fabrication CAD Technicians in bridging the gap between 3D models (Revit) and machinable/ usable files for our CNC equipment (blasting, machining, laser, press brake, folder, etc.)
  • Oversee conversion of 2D blueprints and 3D models into optimized DXF/DWG flat patterns for CNC laser cutting.
  • Model and lead the review of 3D parts to verify fold sequences, ensuring zero collision risks on press brakes and folding machines.
  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routing instructions for the shop floor.
  • Selection of appropriate punch and die setups during the digital design phase to match shop floor tooling.

We have an opening for a Fabrication CAD Team Lead to join our team at our Anderson, SC manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities
