Job summary

ALO seeks a Raw Material Developer to drive development and commercialization of high-performance fabrics across global teams. You will partner with Design, PD, Technical Design, Production, and Sustainability to ensure material readiness from concept to bulk production.

This role oversees lab testing, wear testing, and supplier collaborations with mills worldwide, building systems and KPI dashboards to track development efficiency and fabric adoption across Men’s and core programs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in fabric development with performance textiles.
  • Expertise in knit and woven constructions and finishing.
  • Experience with top-tier mills to develop and commercialize materials.
  • Proficient with industry testing standards (AATCC, ASTM, GB).
  • Ability to advise on material selection throughout development.
  • Strong organizational and project management in a fast-paced, design-led environment.
  • Excellent communication translating technical information for cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with Asana and PLM for development tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and product teams to create and refine fabrics that align with seasonal goals.
  • Oversee material testing, validation, and wear testing for performance and durability.
  • Own wear test workflows from sample coordination to insights across programs.
  • Lead cross-functional design development meetings and track action items.
  • Support commercialization and transitions from development to bulk production.
  • Manage supplier and mill relationships globally to ensure quality.
  • Develop development tracking systems and dashboards for visibility.
  • Build KPI tracking for fabric adoption and efficiency.
  • Mentor interns and onboard new team members.
  • Ensure materials are delivered on time according to seasonal calendars.
  • Stay ahead of fabric trends to push development forward.
