Job summary

FirstSpear in Missouri is seeking a full-time Fabric/Laser Cutting Operator to cut fabrics and other textiles using automated and manual tools. You will ensure high-quality output while maintaining efficiency in a production setting.

The role requires standing for long periods, operating industrial cutting machinery, and following strict cutting standards. Prior experience is preferred, and safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
• Fluent English is highly desirable.
• Proficient computer, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be able to measure and read a ruler.
• Possess fine motor skills and tactile ability to handle small objects.
• Able to frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic fabric cutting and laser cutting machines, and perform manual cutting operations to cut fabrics and other textile materials according to design and batch orders.
• Stack fabrics and cut in accordance with patterns using a powered cutting tool.
• Inspect raw and cut pieces of material for conformance during cutting.
• Generate cut files to maximize material utilization.
• Input and layout text or artwork for laser cutting.
• Assemble laser-cut materials as subassemblies for further production.
• Maintain shelf stock of materials and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
