Job summary

Htprof in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented Fabric Assistant to support our fabric development and production team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in fabric sourcing, development, quality, and production processes.

The ideal candidate will coordinate fabric samples, maintain charts and documentation, communicate with suppliers, track submissions and approvals, assist with purchase orders, and support day-to-day fabric development activities.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with focus on fabric sourcing, development, and production.
• Requires basic knowledge of fabric terminology and processes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabric sourcing, development, and follow-up with suppliers.
• Maintain and organize fabric samples, production samples, and related records.
• Prepare and maintain fabric charts for both development and production.
• Collect and upload FDS and other required documentations, including test reports and sustainability certificates.
• Assist with creating and placing purchase orders for proto and sample yardage.
• Communicate daily with mills and factories to monitor sample yardage status and deliveries.
• Track fabric submissions, approvals, and production status.
• Follow up on outstanding sample requests, approvals, and production-related issues.
• Assist with purchase orders, shipping information, invoices, and other fabric-related documentation.
• Assist with reviewing fabric quality and color and providing comments to suppliers.
• Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
