Job summary

MillerKnoll in Hildebran, NC is seeking assemblers to cut fabric for upholstered furniture and panels using manual and power tools. You will select dies, follow defined work instructions, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate basic math and reading skills, reliable attendance, and willingness to cross-train as needed. Benefits start day one and growth opportunities are available.

  • May rotate through different stations as needed by the business.
  • Supports continuous improvement and meets cycle-time targets.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Cuts fabric for upholstered furniture and panels using manual tools, power tools or automated equipment. Selects proper die for type of product and fabric being used. Problem solves with the assistance of other team members and seeks continuous improvement. Performs and completes all activities with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself. May learn additional functions by cross-training in other departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares and cuts fabric according to standardized work instructions.
  • Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Knows and practices corporate, plant, and department safety guidelines.
  • Knows and practices quality requirements according to specified quality criteria.
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines.
  • Maintains flexibility to meet team, department, and plant goals.
  • May rotate through the department workstations based on business need.
  • Participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments.
  • Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).
  • Commits to meeting overtime requirements.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent.

  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to team success through reliable attendance.

  • Must be able to complete all essential job functions with or without accommodation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
