Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors seeks a skilled welder/pipefitter for daily fabrication shop and field work in Columbus, OH. The role requires reading blueprints, welding in Fab Shop, and coordinating with subcontractors on job sites. A valid driver’s license and safety compliance are essential.

Responsibilities include layout assistance, tool usage, and maintaining equipment while adhering to TP Mechanical Contractors’ safety standards. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of plumbing and piping installation is a plus.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Must be able to pass a pipe test (GMAW).

Position Summary: Responsible for daily work at sites of TP Mechanical Contractors. Work includes all types of pipefitting . Individual should be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all other persons on the jobsite, including our sub-contractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for all welding in Fab Shop.
• Assists with the layout of work projects.
• Follows all OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards for safety.
• Keeps equipment in good working order and insures proper and timely maintenance is performed one equipment.
• Keeps work area clear of unnecessary clutter and performs routine clean-up as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience/Qualifications Required

Job Skills:

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation is a plus.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to pass a pipe test (GMAW).

Education:

• High School or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50
• Able to perform shift work if needed
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.

Special Requirements:
