Job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Shop Coordinator to oversee all aspects of tool and equipment inventory, maintenance, and distribution for our busy shop. This is a hands-on role that combines operational management, inventory control, and process improvement to keep our tools and equipment in top condition and ready for deployment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop and tool room.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all tools and equipment.
  • Track tool usage, manage check-in/check-out systems, and prevent loss or damage.
  • Schedule and perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field crews to meet equipment needs for ongoing projects.
  • Order, receive, and stock tools, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Optimize organization and layout of the shop for safety and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the shipping and receiving of tools and equipment to and from projects.
  • Welding capabilities would be a plus but aren’t a requirement.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment.
  • Proficiency with inventory tracking systems and basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and tool-tracking software).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Valid Driver’s License

All successful candidates must have a valid driver's license and complete a criminal background check.
