Job summary

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking an ECM Operator for 2nd shift (Mon–Thu, 3:15PM–1:45AM) with a $1.00 shift differential. You will perform visual and dimensional checks, read blueprints, and operate machines to follow product specifications and tolerances.

Responsibilities include setting up fixtures, adjusting feeds and speeds, and verifying machined parts meet specifications. Candidates should have a GED or equivalent education and be able to lift up to 25 pounds as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials.
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications, tooling instructions, and sequences of operations.
• Positions and secures tubing; sets up fixtures, starts machines, and adjusts feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
• Monitors machine operation and verifies conformance to specifications.
• Supports safe handling; stands/walks, uses hands, and lifts up to 25 lb as needed.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials
• Holds tape and rods and marks reference points
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
• Selects, positions, and secures tubing in saw
• Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
• Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and feeds tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
