Job summary

Ready is seeking a FabLab Office & Facilities Manager in San Carlos, CA to own daily operations of the Fab Lab. This hands-on role ensures space safety, organization, stocked supplies, and smooth everyday experiences for team members.

You will manage vendors, coordinate facility projects, support events, track expenses, and maintain safety programs, with autonomy in a fast-moving startup. This on-site position requires five days per week in-office responsibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in office/facilities management or related role.
• Experience managing vendors, contractors and building relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive problem-solver with ownership.
• Comfortable in hands-on, physical environment.
• Excellent communication across teams and executives.
• On-site work five days per week in San Carlos.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation of the Fab Lab, ensuring space is clean, organized, functional, safe.
• Manage workspace needs including furniture, AV, printers, guest Wi‑Fi, access control, and infrastructure.
• Keep supplies stocked; anticipate team needs.
• Coordinate mail, deliveries, and on-site logistics.
• Set up new-hire onsite setups including desks and access.
• Serve as primary contact for landlord, contractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, utilities, safety services.
• Own facility projects from quotes to installation and completion.
• Improve Fab Lab with security, storage, signage, and equipment upgrades.
• Track expenses and report monthly costs.
• Coordinate safety programs, Cal/OSHA docs, inspections.
• Maintain environment documentation and renewals.
• Partner with hardware/engineering to support safe work around tools.
• Identify and elevate risks before problems occur.
• Coordinate purchases across vendors and maintain inventory systems.
