Job summary

Tower Semiconductor Ltd. in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an experienced CIM IT Application Engineer for Fab Automation & MES.

You will design, develop, and support mission-critical factory systems to automate fab tools, integrate equipment with MES, and improve production control in a 24/7 environment. You will collaborate with manufacturing, equipment, process, and IT teams to deliver scalable solutions, implement SECS/GEM interfaces, and drive data analytics for yield and traceability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in software engineering, application engineering, or systems integration in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high‑availability environments.
• Strong understanding of fab operations, lots, recipes, genealogy, and traceability.
• Hands‑on MES experience: dispatching, workflow config, equipment interfaces, data collection, or recipe management.
• Experience with SECS‑I/II, HSMS, GEM, GEM300, EDA/Interface A, OPC, or similar equipment‑integration tech.
• Proficiency in Java, C#/.NET, Python, OO design, APIs, multithreading, testing, secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and support MES and fab-automation systems.
• Lead end-to-end software lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Build real-time and batch data pipelines for equipment, process, alarm, and MES data.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Equipment, Process, IE, QC, and IT teams to automate tools and integration.
• Establish DevOps practices: source control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, release management.
