Belcan is seeking an FAA Test Technician, Senior, for its Oro Valley, AZ site. The role involves disassembly, assembly, re-work and limited testing of electrical/electronic equipment under FAA guidelines.

Job Description

The FAA Test Technician position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Maintain an acceptable safety record.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Willing to learn to test and troubleshoot various products as required.
  • Completes necessary training to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Position requires overtime to meet production schedules and demands.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Self‑monitor work progress against fast‑paced area benchmarks and achieve on‑time delivery of all work.
  • Assist with area efficiency and 6S improvement projects.
  • Assist other departments with job duties and tasks, as needed within the scope of expertise.
  • Perform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with current technical data, manufacturers instructions, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
  • Complete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, with limited supervision.
  • Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required; may need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing/testing environment.
  • Basic understanding of 3‑phase power
  • Troubleshooting skills to board level
  • Technical skills unique to the cell this position is filling: working with high voltage and using an oscilloscope to take measurements of AC waveforms and operating an AC power supply.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to utilize manual and automated test equipment to test digital and analog circuitry.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand the circuit function.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in technical terms both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate environmental test chambers.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • FAA designated Safety Sensitive position or potential assignment requires pre‑employment Drug Test and is subject to random 10‑Panel DOT Drug & Alcohol testing during employment.
  • Able and willing to comply with Drug‑Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings.

Descripción del puesto

El puesto de Técnico de Pruebas de la FAA realiza el desmontaje, montaje, retrabajo y pruebas mínimas de diversos equipos eléctricos/electrónicos.

Responsabilidades
  • Mantener un puesto de trabajo limpio y ordenado.
  • Mantener un historial de seguridad aceptable.
  • Mantener un historial de asistencia aceptable.
  • Disposición a aprender a probar y solucionar problemas de diversos productos según sea necesario.
  • Completar la capacitación necesaria para mantener los conocimientos y las habilidades necesarios para el desempeño laboral.
  • Seguir instrucciones escritas y verbales.
  • El puesto requiere horas extras según los cronogramas y las demandas de producción.
  • Cumplir con todas las directrices, políticas y procedimientos de la empresa.
  • Supervisar el progreso del trabajo en función de los puntos de referencia del área, con un ritmo acelerado, y garantizar la entrega puntual de todo el trabajo.
  • Colaborar en proyectos de mejora de la eficiencia del área y las 6S.
  • Colaborar con otros departamentos con las tareas y responsabilidades del puesto, según sea necesario dentro del ámbito de su experiencia.
  • Realizar tareas de mantenimiento y modificación de acuerdo con la información técnica vigente proporcionada en las instrucciones del fabricante para el mantenimiento de la aeronavegabilidad, boletines de servicio, cartas de servicio, directivas de aeronavegabilidad, prácticas estándar gubernamentales e industriales, y otros datos aceptables o aprobados por la FAA.
  • Realizar el trabajo de acuerdo con las instrucciones, especificaciones y procedimientos, con supervisión limitada.
  • Registrar correctamente el trabajo realizado en el registro de mantenimiento correspondiente.
  • Otras responsabilidades según se le asignen.
  • Se requiere asistencia regular, constante y puntual. Es posible que deba trabajar noches y fines de semana, con horarios variables y horas adicionales según sea necesario.
Educación y experiencia
  • Diploma de bachillerato/GED
  • De 3-5 años de experiencia relacionada o completó la capacitación OJT para al menos 10 productos.
Habilidades y conocimientos
  • Capacidad para utilizar equipos de prueba manuales y automatizados para probar circuitos digitales y analógicos.
  • Capacidad para leer esquemas y comprender el funcionamiento del circuito.
  • Debe ser capaz de comunicarse con fluidez en términos técnicos, tanto verbalmente como por escrito.
  • Capacidad para operar cámaras de pruebas ambientales.
  • Experiencia con MS Office.
  • Debe tener conocimientos de informática.
  • Sólidas habilidades analíticas y de resolución de problemas, ingenioso y capaz de trabajar tanto de forma independiente como en equipo.
  • Capacidad para levantar hasta 20 kg.
  • Capacidad para usar herramientas manuales y eléctricas.
  • Capacidad y disposición para cumplir con las políticas de un lugar de trabajo libre de drogas y aprobar todos los exámenes de detección de drogas y alcohol relacionados.
