Job summary

Peraton is shaping the future of U.S. airspace by delivering critical network infrastructure for FAA facilities in the Kansas City region. You’ll install and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems, and support SD-WAN across distributed environments.

You’ll ensure uptime, performance, and security of IP-based networks behind mission-critical aviation systems while collaborating with aviation, engineering, cybersecurity, and systems integration experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 8+ years of experience, or Master’s 6+ years
• Strong experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)

Responsibilities

• Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure
• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
• Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments
• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode)
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools
• Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to incidents
• Troubleshoot network issues across fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalating as needed
• Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records
