Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a qualified engineer to lead FAA certification efforts for seating components. The role requires directing engineering solutions and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with FAA/EASA standards and regulatory submissions.

The candidate will provide technical leadership, review designs, and support certifications for seating products within the main cabin flammability program.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM with minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aeronautical, civil, chemical, textile, or related engineering as required by FAA
  • U.S. Person
  • Must access ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with FAA/EASA rules, and TC/STC/PMA/TSO certification processes preferred
  • Aerospace interiors experience preferred
  • Experience reviewing drawings preferred
  • Proficiency in engineering-related software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Research, plan, and execute FAA certification processes for commercial aircraft seats and seating components
  • Perform standard engineering assignments and drive engineering solutions and design decisions
  • Lead internal technical and design reviews for the Flammability Certification team
  • Compile FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEMs and regulatory agencies
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Support certification of Seating products within the Main Cabin Flammability Certification team
