Job summary

Northern Air Cargo in Anchorage, Alaska is hiring a Flight Mechanic/Inspector to perform inspections on company aircraft and engines in accordance with FAA rules and the company maintenance manual. You will review flight and maintenance records, assist with inspections and line maintenance, and help ensure airworthiness before release.

The role requires a valid FAA A&P certificate, 3 years on the same aircraft type, and ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• FAA mechanic’s certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings.
• Three years of experience on the same type aircraft.
• Forty hours of general familiarization class on the same aircraft model.
• Ability to get qualified to perform UT/ET Phased array, borescope, dye pen, etc.
• Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Must have valid passport from country of citizenship and be able to travel internationally without restriction.
• Must have valid driver’s license with clear driving record.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check and receive TSA clearance for access to restricted areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection functions on all Company aircraft and engines.
• Ensure activities comply with FAA regulations and company specs.
• Review maintenance paperwork for airworthiness before A check release.
• Assist with receiving inspections and shop repair work orders.
• Carry out maintenance tasks when not performing inspections.
• Propose enhancements to procedures for efficiency.
• Sign off completed maintenance tasks and maintain records.
• Report hazards via WBAT or departmental systems.
• Coordinate with Senior Director of Quality Control on inspection findings.
• Serve as Flight Mechanic during Ad Hoc or EEC operations.
• Enter completed maintenance into the TRAX system.
