FA Mechanic/Electrical C, 1st shift (Finance)

Purpose of Position:

To prepare, assemble, and install vehicle components according to specifications for Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.

Major Responsibilities:

• Use and care of PPE.
• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders.
• Operate basic hand tools and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area.
• Perform rework as needed.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in RCI events.
• Cross-train and support other work areas as needed.
• Install vehicle and chipper components and accessories.
• Test installed components.
• Apply basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills.
• Follow safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
• Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing processes.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to obtain Forklift certification if required.
• Maintain a clean work area (5S).
• Assist co-workers and group leads.
• Participate in RCI events.
• Knowledge of Altec programs/systems is a plus.
• Shift work may be required.
