Job summary

Menzies Aviation at Tampa International Airport, Florida is hiring a ramp agent to load and unload cargo and baggage, operate motorized equipment, and ensure accurate weight balance and routing.

The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs, outdoor work in all weather, English proficiency, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work flexible shifts. Training is provided, and uniforms are supplied.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience
• Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test
• Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs continuously
• Must speak, read, and write in English proficiently
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no violations in past 5 years
• Must be available for variable shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays
• Work outdoors in all weather; obtain airport badges/seals

Responsibilities

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft
• Transport cargo between aircraft, terminals and air cargo facilities
• Operate motorized equipment
• Read and interpret loading instructions, labels and routing tags
• Perform other duties as assigned

Location: Tampa International Airport, Florida

Pay: $16.00/hour

• $0.50 pay increases at 180 days

What you will be doing:

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
