Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor(Phase) - Naval Test Wing Pacific (NTWP) - China Lake, CA

Responsibilities
  1. Plan and coordinate all aircraft maintenance activities, including inspections (special, conditional, phase, etc.).
  2. Dispatch and monitor assigned tasks and jobs to work centers.
  3. Keep the Maintenance Director informed on aircraft status.
  4. Manage work assignments to ensure aircraft availability supporting flight schedules.
  5. Monitor the NALCOMIS/OOMA system for work performed and current status.
  6. Prepare daily Aircraft Maintenance Status Readiness Reports (AMSRR).
  7. Coordinate and prioritize maintenance actions.
  8. Comply with NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series and CNAFINST 4790.2 series regulations.
  9. Maintain aircraft historical records and other related files.
  10. Oversee mission configurations and coordinate with civil service work centers for support.
  11. Ensure proper handover logs between shifts.
  12. Verify Maintenance Action Documentation before submission to the Navy, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
  13. Maintain clean and safe work areas, observe safety rules.
  14. Train and instruct subordinate employees.
  15. Perform other related duties, including those of lower-rated personnel.
  16. Assist other shops and reassign contract personnel as needed.
  17. Transport pilots to hangars when required.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Understanding of basic supply procedures.
  • Knowledge of technical directives and CNAFINST 4790.2 series.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft (F/A-18, AV-8, H-60).
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Military VMET or JST required (if prior military).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma with extensive aircraft maintenance management experience also acceptable.
  • At least 15 years in aircraft maintenance and material support, with 10 years in direct maintenance roles.
  • Minimum 6 years in a supervisory role within the last 10 years.
  • Experience supervising daily flight operations and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
Physical & Working Environment
  • Valid U.S. driver license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret Clearance; active clearance preferred.
  • US citizenship required for clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $110K - $115K USD, based on experience and qualifications.
