Job summary

Deer Valley Resort in Utah seeks Back of House culinary staff to support the executive chef with daily supervision of kitchen personnel. Assistant Sous Chef and Sous Chef roles are available for seasonal or year-round employment at multiple restaurant locations.

Responsibilities include ensuring high food quality, developing menu items, forecasting and scheduling, and maintaining safety and sanitation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising in a fine dining restaurant kitchen.
• Current SafeServe certificate.
• Able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
• Able to withstand frequent up/down, twisting, and repetitive movements in warm temperature environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate the kitchen with great attention to food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Develop new menu items in conjunction with the executive chef.
• Direct kitchen personnel in the absence of the executive chef.
• Carry out administrative functions, including forecasting, payroll, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, and disciplining kitchen staff.
• Organize an efficient flow of production and assure quality and portion consistency in recipes.
• Ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and facilities.
• Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with health codes.
• Other duties as assigned.
