Job summary

Lassonde Pappas & Co. in Boardman, OH is hiring a Buyer on-site two days per week. This position reports to the Director of Purchasing and focuses on sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials to support manufacturing operations.

The role ensures supply continuity, manages inventory, negotiates terms with suppliers, and collaborates with Production, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Accounting to optimize cost and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 6 months–2 years of experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Highly motivated; results oriented; able to learn quickly
• Strong Excel skills and computer savvy

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of packaging materials, ingredients, equipment, parts, and indirect spend
• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders with accurate processing
• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing requirements to ensure continuity of supply
• Track and expedite open purchase orders; resolve supplier delays and shortages
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers; primary point of contact
• Lead sourcing, supplier selection, quotation, and negotiation
• Collaborate with Production, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and others to support needs
• Procure equipment, maintenance parts, PPE, uniforms, and other indirect materials
• Review purchasing, receiving, and invoice docs to ensure accuracy
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, inventory optimization, and process efficiencies
