Job summary

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX is seeking a J1 Intern for F&B Front of House for a 12-month visa program. You will learn restaurant operations, guest service excellence, and overall service standards across the resort's dining outlets.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, and coordinating with kitchen teams. Must be 18+, hold Texas Food Handlers and TABC, and work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold Texas Food Handlers and TABC certifications.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English with guests and team members.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking.
• Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, using names when known.
• Escort guests to tables and present menus with elegance.
• Provide detailed menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pairing suggestions.
• Take orders accurately and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences with discretion.
• Use POS systems to input orders and process payments accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow; monitor inventory and report shortages.
