Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service seeks a Block 4 Systems Engineer (NH-0801-03) to support the AFLCMC at Arlington, VA. You will oversee F-35 systems engineering across lifecycle phases, draft SOWs for FoM capabilities, and coordinate with IPTs, NAVAIR, and contractor teams to ensure integrated, compliant designs.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in systems or aerospace engineering and 4+ years in aviation systems engineering and acquisition environments.

Qualifications

• 4 or more years’ experience in aviation systems engineering.
• 4 or more years systems engineering experience in an acquisition organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide general systems engineering oversight of F-35 capabilities during all phases of the Systems Engineering “V” (requirements decomposition through SETR to verification and fielding).
• Aid in the creation of statements of work (SOW) for FoM capabilities to be bid by the contractor and participate in technical evaluations of FoM contracts.
• Ensure integration across the F-35 Air System across product and functional teams, ensuring design meets specification requirements and key performance thresholds for FoM program.
• Aid Product Teams and Functional Teams on FoM design issue resolution across the F-35 development program.
• Facilitate teamwork among IPTs, Directors, NAVAIR and AFLCMC to ensure integration of new hardware and software systems meets customer expectations.
• Coordinate activities of multiple Product Teams to provide an integrated solution addressing trade studies, requirements/design shortfalls, FoM product development, configuration/data management, retrofit coordination, ECP and deficiency management, and export/certification compliance.
• Provide engineering leadership in developing early engineering plans, process improvements and execution discipline for FoM technical success.

Education

Baccalaureate degree in systems engineering or aerospace engineering
