F-18 Structural Mechanic

Work Location:

Jacksonville, FL 32221

Duration:

12+ months assignment with possible extension

Shift Schedule:

1st shift 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Pay Rate:

$35/hr. on W2 without benefits

Job Description:
  • This mechanic maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aircraft components such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical parts. The role requires applying technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment to operational condition. The technician must interpret technical documentation like blueprints and manufacturer manuals to solve problems of moderate to complex difficulty.
  • Requirements include thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, parts replacement, and broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. Basic electrical theory knowledge is necessary, along with familiarity with aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • The candidate should have working knowledge of technical publications. Guidance will be provided by supervisors or senior technicians, and the candidate may lead teams on complex tasks. Record-keeping in aircraft logs and records may also be required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet project schedules is essential.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
  • Repairing and overhauling structures for F18 EF Trailing Edge Flap.
Must Haves:
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Close tolerance drilling skills.
  • Blueprint reading and part location experience.
Education / Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
