Description: As an F-16 Technical Publications Author – Level 1, you will develop and maintain mission-critical documentation for the F-16 aircraft, translating complex engineering data into clear maintenance manuals used globally. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to defense efforts, and support aircraft readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate, clear maintenance instructions and technical publications.
  • Interpret engineering data, drawings, and schematics into documentation.
  • Use systems like EDMS and AEI to extract data for avionics and weapons systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, flight test, customer support, and Air Force teams.
  • Manage technical order updates and process change requests.
  • Verify and validate publications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support quality assurance and stay current with standards.
Qualifications
  • Experience with aircraft systems such as Hydraulic, Lighting, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection, etc.
  • Knowledge of SGML or XML tagging.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Experience working with external customers on technical issues.
Preferred Skills
  • Mechanical aircraft systems knowledge.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Experience with F-16/F-22 platforms.
  • Proficiency with engineering data interpretation and technical procedures.
  • Experience with tools like Epic Editor, Isodraw, XML, S1000D.
