Maine Optometry is expanding and seeks an Eyewear Sales Consultant/Optician to help patients choose and fit eyewear with precision in Lewiston, ME. This full-time, in-person role emphasizes friendly service, accuracy, and product knowledge in a supportive optical department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare or customer service is a plus but training is provided.
• Knowledge of current optical frame styles and trends.
• Strong communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Take and record measurements, fit eyewear, and ensure proper fit.
• Ask open-ended questions to understand needs and preferences.
• Review prescriptions, identify special needs, and consult with optometrists.
• Custom fit glasses and inspect eyewear; reinforce selections.
• Describe features and benefits of lenses and frames using proper tools.
• Anticipate issues and develop long-term solutions for patients.
• Educate patients on eyewear and manage delivery timelines.
• Keep frame boards clean, attractive, and organized.
