Job summary

National Vision in Schaumburg, IL seeks an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to run daily store operations, lead optical sales teams, and ensure a positive customer experience. This role centers on coaching staff, maintaining service standards, and driving sales performance at the America's Best location.

The ideal candidate will monitor profitability, manage promotions, supervise opticians and sales staff, and collaborate with the General Manager on staffing and training to foster a high-caliber team.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience with leadership exposure.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for team management.
• Excellent organizational skills to plan work and monitor progress toward goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills across varied scopes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and policy compliance.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure staff maintain the same standard.
• Ensure quality standards are met and address remakes per policy.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Coordinate store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising; ensure staff awareness.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and sales associates; support staffing forecasts and recruitment.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs and retaining a high-caliber team.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
