Job summary

Bridgeview Eye Partners in Granger, IN is hiring an Eyewear Consultant - Optician for a full-time, on-site position. You will guide customers through eyewear choices, explain lens options, and help maintain appealing displays while ensuring accurate orders.

The role requires a high school diploma and sales or medical office experience. We offer starting pay of $16.00–$17.00 per hour, 6.5 paid holidays, PTO, medical/dental/vision, 401k, and a company-paid certification program for wage growth.

Qualifications

• Anoptician counsels patients through eyewear selection and educates on doctor recommendations.
• Calculates insurance co-pay based on eligibility.
• Enter spectacle orders and monitor delivery to ensure on-time fulfillment.
• Notify patients and schedule dispensing; educate on eyewear care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in the selection process of spectacles, providing education on quality choices, lens selection, and frame styling.
• Calculate insurance co-pay based on insurance eligibility.
• Accurately enter spectacle orders; ensure timely delivery by monitoring status on a daily basis.
• Receive spectacle orders into system, verify order, notify patients, and schedule dispensing.
• Contact patients for follow up on progress of adapting to dispensed eyewear and prescribed contacts.
• Perform spectacle adjustments and repairs when necessary.
• Troubleshoot patient concerns with eyewear when necessary.
• Educate patients on the care of prescribed eyewear.
• Maintain inventory pertaining to all aspects of the optical retail area, including lab supplies.
• Maintain displays of optical merchandise.
• Monitor patient flow throughout appointment, properly communicating delays to other departments.
