Qualifications
Two (2) years of experience as an Orthoptist, including teaching experience.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients with ocular motility disturbances.
Make diagnostic choices while evaluating patients.
Provide ocular motility and/or vision treatment.
Organize and participate in vision screening.
Conduct ocular motility conferences.
Document ocular motility disturbances.
Assist in strabismus surgery.
Skills
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the eye
Ability to use and maintain orthoptic instruments
Teaching skills for training students
Analytical skills for patient evaluation
Interpersonal skills with diverse patients
High attention to detail
Ability to work in a high-volume clinic
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a two-year Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Technician program
Orthoptist or Ophthalmic Medical Technician certification
