Job summary

MyEyeDr. in United States, Ohio is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and measurements.

No optical experience is required; training and tools will be provided to help you learn the industry and deliver a best-in-class patient experience. The role involves prepping patients for exams, maintaining flow, conducting pretest screenings, and training on contact lens handling, while collaborating with the team to ensure a seamless visit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and ability to understand basic math.
• Personable, patient, and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions, and chart medical history to prep for exam.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and office staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during appointments.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings prior to doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.
