Job summary

Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region in Rutland, VT, seeks a Medical Assistant for Eye Care to support clinical and administrative tasks in a busy eye clinic. This full-time, 1.0 FTE role emphasizes accurate documentation and patient care across exams and treatments.

The MA will prepare patients, record vitals and history, assist providers, manage scheduling and payments, and maintain sterile environments while protecting patient privacy and delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; MA program preferred.
• Completion of Community Health medication/immunization administration competencies.
• Medical Assistant experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to manage emergency situations calmly.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for exams and treatments.
• Document vital signs, medications, and medical history in the EMR.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage calls.
• Maintain sterilization and inventory; process payments for visits and eyeglasses.
• Uphold confidentiality and charting standards; ensure HIPAA compliance.
