Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• COA or OSC certifications are required for the role.
• Ophthalmic Medical Assisting Independent Study or JCAT within two years of hire.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required at start.

Responsibilities

• Assist eye care providers with patient care and flow of clinical activities.
• Perform basic optometric and diagnostic testing procedures as assigned.
• Assist with minor procedures and prescription refills under supervision.
• Document care, educate patients, and enter charges; help with patient care flow.
