The opportunity

As our External Security Vetting Services (ESVS) Quality Assurance (QA) specialist you\'ll be responsible for conducting Quality Assurance across security clearance assessment cases. We welcome experience in QA across all clearance levels, Baseline through to PV.

Aside from your core role in conducting the QA over cases, you will also help implement and continuously improve EY’s quality assurance processes, setting new standards in quality excellence in vetting. This may require hands-on support for complex cases, identifying trends in quality and performance (which will feed into training requirements), and providing some coaching and mentoring for Vetting Analysts.

This role is based in Naarm – Melbourne, Boorloo – Perth, Canberra – Ngambri, Meanjin – Brisbane / Tarndanya or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Quality assurance – conduct ongoing QA for your determined case load and clearance level, aligning to the quality expectations and procedures/policies for the Agency, and, strictly adhering to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and EY best practices. We would agree clearance level focus with you however are looking for QA specialists across all clearance levels.
  • Quality assurance management – help to manage the QA case allocation queue. Support and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Agency and EY standards. Provide inputs into quality measurement and reporting.
  • Coaching and mentoring – provide coaching as required based on identified trends from QA, as well as inputting into training requirements enabling a continuous development program for current / experienced Vetting Analysts.
  • Complex case support – provide hands on support for complex cases, using experience and vetting knowledge to enable vetting analysts to complete the case.
  • Performance metrics and reporting - input into quality reporting and metrics (based on agreed KPIs), identifying improvement recommendations to senior management.
  • Continuous improvement – stay informed about industry trends, best practices, EY quality and performance trends to inform training methods and focus.

Skills and attributes for success

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A minimum Negative Vetting Level 1, with the opportunity to upgrade to Negative Vetting 2 as required
  • Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting)
  • Vetting and QA experience (essential) in Government or similar high-security environments

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Vetting: Experience with on-the-job vetting across Baseline to NV2.
  • Attention to Detail: The meticulous scrutiny of extensive data and identification of potential security risks.
  • Quality Assurance: Experience conducting QA on cases, with firm commitment to uphold high-quality standards in vetting processes and documentation, strictly adhering to the PSPF.
