Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Lithia Springs, GA, is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to design profile extrusion dies and build tooling for plastic profiles. You will set up and run tool room equipment and support maintenance in a TPM/CI environment.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of design and tool and die making experience for plastic extrusion, an associate degree or equivalent, PIT experience, and strong teamwork with basic Windows skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years Associate Degree or equivalent past work experience.
• 2 years of design, tool and die making experience for a plastic profile extrusion company.
• Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) experience.
• Basic PC skills (MS Windows).
• Ability to work in a team environment and self-direct activities.
• Continued technical training required each year.

Responsibilities

• Design profile extrusions dies per profile specifications delivered by the engineering department.
• Build dies, fixtures or related tools and complete tooling repairs and revisions in accordance with the blueprint dimensions.
• Setup and operate tool room equipment needed ( Mills, Grinders, Lathes) to build, repair, revise and service molds, dies, calibrators, fixtures and related tools in a correct and timely manner.
• Provide multi-skilled maintenance/electrical support focused on customer service, quality, cost and productivity in a TPM and CI environment.
• Follow safety and maintain a respectful workplace.

JOB DETAILS

1ST SHIFT: 6:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday (weekends based on business need)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design profile extrusions dies per profile specifications delivered by the engineering department.
• Build dies, fixtures or related tools and complete tooling repairs and revisions in accordance with the blueprint dimensions.
• Setup and operate Tool Room equipment needed ( Mills, Grinders, Lathes) to build, repair, revise and service molds, dies, calibrators, fixtures and related tools in a correct and timely manner.
• Provide multi-skilled maintenance/electrical support focused on customer service, quality, cost and productivity in a TPM and CI environment. Focused on developing maintenance skills and abilities. Follows and promotes safety and safely perform all job tasks.
• Demonstrate respectful workplace behavior.
• Understand, troubleshoot and problem solve issues of basic complexity in advanced Extrusion Tooling and Process.
• Test and perform preventative maintenance on Extrusion Tooling.
• Understand basic operation and use of Machinist measurement equipment and tooling.
• Understand types of water and vacuum fittings.
• Understand trouble shooting process for Extrusion Process.

Additional Information

Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.
