Job summary

Inteplast Group in the United States is seeking an Extrusion Technician A to operate and change over extrusion lines in his/her assigned island, maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping, and collaborate with team members.

The role requires a high school diploma or related degree plus plastics processing experience; responsibilities include training trainees, performing TPM, handling production paperwork, and being flexible with non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 year + plastic blown film experience as an operator or 2/4 year degree related in the field that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position is preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform process maintenance
• Must be able to identify safety hazards
• Capable of maintaining production and quality of 6 production lines
• Must be able to train Operator Trainees
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all plant safety rules and company policy
• Responsible for housekeeping of assigned area
• Responsible for quality in assigned area including proper QC procedures
• Responsible for production in assigned area
• Responsible for production paperwork in assigned area
• Able to fill in as packer for breaks and when short handed
• Perform product change in assigned area
• Perform TPM in assigned area
• Assist with training employees
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment in assigned area
• Work with maintenance on repair of equipment
• Able to fill in during absence of Sr. Lead Technician
• Work overtime as needed
• Able to do master roll change unassisted
• Able to do additional work as requested by supervisor
• Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
• Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
• Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.
• Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
